When is the Best Time to Visit the Amalfi Coast?

The Amalfi Coast is an incredibly popular sailing destination for holidaymakers searching for a chance to unwind in one of the most picturesque and cultural parts of the Mediterranean. A sailing holiday is an ideal way to hit multiple destinations in one summer trip, making it the best option for travellers wanting to explore all of the incredible stop-offs along this Italian coastline. However, selecting your time of year is absolutely key to ensuring you make the most of your sailing charter. For lots of sailing holiday groups, the budget can play be a huge factor in planning any trip. The most popular times to visit are in the warmest months between July – September, however, the most cost-effective time of year is during the cooler months of May and June and also just after the peak season in September and October. CULTURE 

The famously colourful cliffs of the Amalfi Coast are a true reflection of the vibrant culture that you’ll find here! From July – September you can enjoy local and international music acts at the Sorrento Summer of Music, an incredible festival held against the dramatic backdrop of the cloisters of the Saint Francis Monastery. If you’re after a more diverse cultural event, head to the island of Ravello from June – September for the Wagner Music Festival which is a celebration of music, opera, ballet and film. Every year during May and June, Amalfi celebrates her rich past with the Regatta of the Ancient Maritime Republics, you will find the coast bursting with recreated period costumes and sea vessels, representing the four ancient Maritime Republics: Amalfi, Pisa, Genoa and Venice.
