PORTISCO

Day 1

Saturday

Arrival & check-in, Portisco, Sardinia

Nestled towards the south of the beautiful Emerald Coast, Portisco is a naturally sheltered harbour making it a peaceful spot to start your week of sailing. There’s a range of shops to explore that will help you get stocked up for the week and plenty of restaurants to unwind in for your first evening.

TAVOLARA

Day 2

Sunday

Olbia Town & Tavolara Island

On your first morning we recommend taking a 30 – 40 minute train ride to the incredible Olbia Town. This historic spot is filled with amazing boutiques, bars, and cafes all set into a hillside tapestry of colourful old buildings and homes. It’s a great spot to get acquainted with quintessential Italian history and way of life! Once you’ve finished exploring it’ll be time to take a short sail to the hidden gem of Tavolara Island. This tiny sliver of land has only one restaurant so it could be a good opportunity to make use of your onboard cooking facilities and enjoy dinner onboard surrounded by incredible unspoilt views.

CAPRERA ISLAND

Day 3

Monday

Caprera Island

On day three you’ll have the opportunity to visit an island which itself is a national monument. Caprera was purchased by famous Italian historical figure Giuseppe Garibaldi and you can visit his house at Porto Garibaldi which has now become a museum. Whether you spend your day basking in the Mediterranean sunshine or exploring the quaint fisherman’s village, Caprera is guaranteed to be one of the most beautiful spots on your trip!

BONIFACIO

Day 4

Tuesday

Bonifacio, Corsica

As you approach Bonifacio, you’ll be greeted by a stunning natural harbour that beckons you in to see more! You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful beaches, if you’re willing to take a small hike through some beautiful nature you’ll be able to relax at Palge du Petit Sperone which is one of the most stunning white sand beaches on the coast of Corsica. In land there’s plenty to explore with the Bonifacio Citadel and King Aragon Steps right at your fingertips.

BUDELLI ISLAND

Day 5

Wednesday

Budelli Island

On day five, you’ll come across one of the best photo opportunities of the trip – the incredible pink sands of Budelli Island! As part of the La Maddalena National Park, Budelli is incredibly well protected to ensure its pristine condition can be enjoyed by all visitors meaning you won’t find a bustling town here, but rather a tiny oasis that feels truly cut off from the rest of the world.

MADDALENA ISLAND

Day 6

Thursday

Maddalena Island

Your last stop before returning to Portisco is the large and busy island of Maddalena. Here you will find a bustling town with lots of shops and restaurants to explore that has been in existence since ancient times – you just have to look at the fortifications cut into the rocky terrain to get a sense of how long this military stronghold has been in significance.

PORTISCO

Day 7

Friday

Finally it’s time to sail back to stunning Portisco for your last evening with The Big Sail. Make the most of this last chance to enjoy what you have loved most about your charter.
