Arrival & check-in, Coral Sea Marina, Airlie Beach
The stunning Airlie Beach is an excellent place to start your journey through the Whitsundays! With some of the clearest waters and whitest sands in Australia, this part of coastal Queensland is arguably one of the most stunning sailing destinations south of the equator. Famous for whale watching, you might get lucky enough to spot some incredible wildlife off the coast while you relax in one of the bars and restaurants that are dotted around Coral Sea Marina.
Stonehaven, Hook Island
Take a short sail along the stunning coastline of Hook Island until you arrive in the scenic bay of Stonehaven. Here you’ll find more great spots for snorkelling and an unspoilt beach to relax on. Stonehaven is known for it’s thriving marine population so we recommend making use of your onboard kitchen facilities and embracing the stunning horizon views and hopefully some dolphins spotting while you enjoy dinner!
Langford Reef & Butterfly Bay, Hook Island
Heading to the northern tip of the nearby Hook Island, you’ll continue your week of sailing with some incredible snorkelling and diving. The unspoilt coral reefs that are scattered around the Whitsundays are some of the most colourful and lively in the world, and Langford is no exception! Drift over to the peaceful Butterfly Bay to settle down for the evening.
Macona Inlet, Hook Island
Macona Inlet is a great spot to enjoy swimming and snorkelling, explore the dense greenery, or take a walk along the long sandy spit that stretches out into the blue waters – but make sure to be back before high tide or you might end up stranded!
Whitehaven Beach, Whitsunday Island
This 7km stretch of beach boasts some of the purest white sands in the world. This will be a favourite spot for photography buffs and those on the hunt for breathtaking scenery!
As you near the end of your sailing trip, enjoy the luxury of one of the biggest resort islands in the Whitsundays, the stunning Hamilton Island. If you’re travelling as a family this is an excellent opportunity to let the kids go wild with the swimming pools, go karting, and mini golf that are all safely included in the grounds of the resort while the grown ups enjoy the amazing restaurants and spa services.
SOUTH MOLLE ISLAND
South Molle Island
The last stop before your return to Airlie Beach is the smaller resort island of South Molle. As you sail towards the island you’ll be hypnotised by the amazing palm trees and white sands that make this spot truly look like an oasis of dreams. Here, you’ll be able to enjoy your second last evening in the Whitsundays surrounded by incredible views of rolling rainforest mountains and stunning blue horizons.
Return to Coral Sea Marina, Airlie Beach
Finally it’s time to sail back to lovely Airlie Beach and say goodbye to The Big Sail. Make the most of this last chance to enjoy what you have loved most about your charter. Whether it’s relaxed Australian hospitality, snorkelling and diving, or just simply taking in the sea air on the harbour – you can do it all at Airlie Beach!
