Šibenik Sailing Holidays

Experience arguably the most beautiful part of Croatia, when you set sail from Šibenik on your next yacht charter! Charter a yacht from the peaceful harbour at Šibenik for a 7 day escape into the Šibenik archipelago and Kornati National Park. You’ll spend your week sailing, swimming, exploring coastal villages, sampling amazing cuisine and much more, all against a breathtaking natural backdrop. Get in touch to start planning your Šibenik yacht charter with a tailor-made quote from The Big Sail. We'll include a Skipper if you need one plus we’ll help create a bespoke sailing itinerary for your group.

Day 1

Arrival & check-in, Šibenik

Get ready to embark on your Adriatic journey from the historic city of Šibenik! Take time to explore the unique cobbled streets that zigzag towards the Fortress of St. Michael and carve their way through the incredibly green coastline. Get settled into your new floating home for the week, then head to one of the great local restaurants in Šibenik for dinner.

Day 2

Today you’ll start your sailing adventure around the unspoilt Šibenik archipelago by visiting the beautiful island of Kaprije. Kaprije is a car-free zone meaning you will be able to explore the naturally flourishing island completely by foot. Despite being home to only around 100 inhabitants, Kaprije has a main village which boasts several restaurants that serve exquisite local cuisine. Enjoy this taste of traditional Croatian village life!

Day 3

Kornati Islands National Park

Croatia is home to eight stunning national parks. On day three of your sailing holiday you’ll encounter one of these amazing natural wonders! The Kornati National Park is often referred to as a “sailor’s paradise” and it’s easy to see why. Once you enter the park you will be able to sail between countless small, grassy islands that create a truly unique landscape when contrasted with the still water. Spend your day sailing, swimming, and picnicking before retiring to the island of Ravni Zakan where you can treat yourself to some local cuisine after a day of exploring.

Day 4

From Ravni Zakan, sail north and continue to explore the Kornati islands until you  reach the picturesque island of Katina. Here you will find a natural gem of the Šibenik archipelago that sits uninhabited apart from Restaurant Mare – one of the oldest restaurants in the Kornati Islands – it is overflowing with Mediterranean charm and has excellent seafood!

Day 5

Ease your way back into mainland life with the larger island of Murter. Here you will find a popular destination for travellers’ paths to cross with some of Croatia’s most beautiful beaches and unique historical sights. Murter is well-know within Croatia for it’s olive oil production, so whilst in town be sure to grab a bottle of Murter’s famous locally-produced olive oil!

Day 6

Krka National Park

After enjoying Murter, take in the views of the stunning Dalmatian Coast as you sail south towards the world-famous Krka National Park. Head inland through a winding network of inland waterways until you arrive at a place called Skradin, which is the furthest you can travel in-land by yacht. The forest-covered mountains will have you enchanted before you even reach the waterfalls! At Krka you will be able to swim in crystal clear waters, see the famous waterfalls and explore what is left of the historic water mills at Skradinski.

Day 7

Šibenik and Zlarin

Return to Krka falls early in the morning if you like to beat the crowds, then sail back downstream towards Šibenik. Enjoy a short sail down St Anthony’s canal which emerges back into the stunning Bay of Šibenik, offering one last breathtaking view of the Šibenik archipelago and an opportunity to see the 16th century Fortress of St. Nicholas. Sail towards the nearby small island of Zlarin, where you can spend your final afternoon relaxing in the complete peace of this untouched oasis before returning to Šibenik around 5pm ahead of checking-out the following morning.
